Bangkok's heat and humidity are real factors in how your body performs on the golf course. While your muscles are never truly cold in Thailand's climate, that does not mean you can skip the warm-up. A proper pre-round routine is about switching on movement patterns - not just loosening up.
Before your next round at Thai Country Club, Royal Gems, or any of Bangkok's excellent courses, build these habits.
Start With Your Body, Not a Club
Spend five minutes on basic mobility. Hip circles, torso rotations, and gentle side bends will get your core and hips moving in the directions they need to move during a golf swing.
Work Up Through the Bag
At the range, start with your most lofted club. Hit short, controlled shots. After ten to fifteen balls with short irons, work up to mid-irons, then a fairway wood or hybrid, and finish with a few drives. You are building rhythm, not hitting hard.
Finish With Your Putter
Hit several long putts to get a feel for the pace of the greens. Then hit a handful of short putts to build confidence. This is the most neglected part of the warm-up and one of the most valuable.
This Is Not Practice
Your warm-up is not the time to fix your swing. You are building feel and rhythm.
Book a session at GOLFTEC Bangkok and ask your coach to build a pre-round routine tailored to your specific swing.
